COWBOY CHOWS SAMOA GIRL SCOUT COOKIE CHOCOLATE CREAM PIE
FOR THE CRUST:
1 ½ cups chocolate flavored graham crackers, crushed
¼ cup granulated sugar
6 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
In a small mixing bowl, combine all ingredients until combined. Press into a 9 inch pie plate.
Bake at 375 F for 5-7 minutes. Cool
FOR THE GARNISH:
Fresh whipped cream
Caramel ice cream topping, melted
Toasted coconut flakes
Whole Samoa cookies
FOR THE FILLING:
¾ cup granulated sugar
1/3 cup all-purpose flour
2 cups whole milk
2 ounces unsweetened chocolate
3 egg yolks
2 tablespoons unsalted butter
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
2 cups Samoa Girl Scout Cookies, crushed
In a medium saucepan, combine sugar, flour, milk and chocolate. Cook over medium heat until mixture begins to bubble. Cook for an additional 2 minutes, stirring constantly.
Mix a little of the hot mixture into the eggs yolks, beating constantly (this keeps the egg from cooking). Incorporate the yolk mixture into the remaining chocolate mixture. Continue cooking for another 2 minutes, stirring constantly. Remove from heat and stir in butter and vanilla. Gently fold in crushed Samoa Girl Scout cookies.
Pour pie into cooled shell and chill until set. Garnish with fresh whipped cream, caramel topping, toasted coconut and Samoa cookies
TWISTED ROOTS THIN MINT GIRL SCOUT COOKIE SHAKE
12 oz. Chef Steves frozen custard
1 oz. Hersheys chocolate syrup
3 tablespoon Thin Mints, crushed
Combine all ingredients, blend until smooth. Top with whipped cream and ½ of a Thin Mint cookie.
Now this is what I have been searching for….
This Samoa pie helped me get through some horrible treatments at Baylor Dallas Hospital and now my Cowboy Chow is closed. At least I can still get the watermelon tea at Twisted Root. Miss y’all too much!
